    Public Dock at Broadway

    Tall Ships Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain, official ambassadors of Washington state, will visit Oakland from March 16th – 26th and offer exciting Adventure Sails, Battle Sails and Vessel Tours from the dock. Vessel Tours open the ships to the public for a suggested donation of $5 per person. Come check out the ship and meet her crew!

    Sailing guests will embark on a two or three-hour experience. Adventure Sails feature sailing as it was done for hundreds of years. Join in a sea shanty, enjoy breathtaking views, and meet the modern day crew that travels the west coast. Battle Sails feature fast-paced maneuvering and live black powder cannon fire as the ships vie to win the battle.

    A ticket is required for all sailing passengers, including babies. Children 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Refreshments are not provided, but guests are welcome to bring their own (no glass containers, please). Accessibility is addressed on a case-by-case basis, so please talk to us ahead of time to be sure we can accommodate your needs.

    Second Saturdays, a new monthly open air market on the Oakland waterfront, featuring up to 100 artisan vendors, children’s activities, live entertainment, and great food from local vendors and favorite eateries. True to its namesake, Second Saturday will be held every second Saturday of the month from 11 a.m.–5 p.m. The flagship monthly event is open to the public and free to attend. The Second Saturday series kicks off on Saturday, March 10 and runs through the year.

    Hosted by Wiggins Consulting and Jack London Square, the new series will feature independent vendors with a strong Bay Area presence, including Imagination Unlimited, Old School Copes, and the Lisa Inez. Second Saturday serves as a platform for local entrepreneurs and business owners to showcase their products and services at a monthly family festive event.

    Dance-A-Vision Oakland Dance Festival brings the best local dancers, choreographers, studios and teachers to Jack London Square for one day of fabulous rhythm and fun. This festival will showcase a dazzling array of dance genres including jazz, ballet, modern, hip-hop, folkloric dance and more. From little ones to professional adults, dancers of all ages will perform and celebrate the power of dance. In addition to performances, this event will feature workshops, master classes, lecture demonstrations and more.

    Located at the heart of the East Bay Urban Wine Trail, Jack London Square will be filled with more than 40 Northern California wineries offering tastings, as well as small eats, craft beer, cider, live music, eclectic exhibitors and more. From local foodies to friends and neighbors, everyone is invited to this special celebration of fine wine, delicious eats and good company. A portion of the tasting ticket proceeds will benefit a local nonprofit.
