Jack London Square Lights Up for the Holidays celebrates the festive holiday season with an annual family tree lighting ceremony on the waterfront at Jack London Square. Free to attend, visitors will enjoy an evening of festivities which includes a performance by The Tap Dancing Christmas Trees, musical performances by Radio Disney, an assortment of costumed characters, live reindeer and a 55-ft. Mt. Shasta fir tree that will be lit at 7:15 PM. Santa will arrive by way of a "water sleigh" at 5:15 PM. Also, Bay Voyager will be hosting Santa Claus for free photos! We encourage visitors to donate a toy for the Mayor’s Toy Drive and/or to donate food to the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Everyone is invited to attend this classic Bay Area tradition to ring in the holiday season!
In addition, there will be holiday musical entertainment by: Veronica Powers, TOSCA - Oakland Symphony Chorus, Conservatory of Vocal & Instrumental Arts and the Veterans' Choir. The entertainment for this fun event is provided by the America’s Children’s Holiday which takes place in downtown Oakland on Saturday, December 7th starting at 2 PM.

Shop the Holiday Pop Up with more than 90 local vendors/artisans from 5 PM – 9 PM. Co-hosted by Nneka, In the Black, and Oakland Grown. Shop Oaklandish – a pop up shop at Jack London Square for the holiday season beginning November 20th throughout the December 29th. Oaklandish will have premium quality local apparel and accessories alongside a wide selection of goods from local makers. Also daily vendor trunk shows will highlight talented Bay Area artists.
